Arkup’s innovative concept came to life with its 75-foot luxury yacht debuting on Miami’s luxury waterfront. It has impressive environmentally-friendly features such as 100% solar-powered energy, collects rainwater, and has a purifying system. The solar energy system also powers its electric engines to cruise 20 miles on a single charge. These features allow it to be self-sufficient and make it possible for those looking for that option to go off the grid.

The featured yacht in the video includes glass walls, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a large extendable entertainment deck and is designed to withstand a category 4 hurricane with up to 155-mph winds. It is designed by ABYC and NMMA standards to ensure it’s built like a boat rather than a floating home.
The company was founded in 2016 by Nicolas Derouin and Arnaud Luguet, with the motto, ‘Avant-garde life on water.’ The two engineers see their innovation as a solution to adapting to climate change, self-sufficiency, and sustainability. In an interview with CEO Magazine, co-founder Nicolas Derouin compares Arkup with Tesla.
He says: “In the beginning, Tesla was a luxury product only the rich could afford. But its new range is a lot more accessible now. In the same way, Arkup will become a responsibly green alternative to conventional housing,” he predicts. “We don’t pretend to be the only solution to rising sea levels, but we feel that we can be part of the solution. We’re building foundations for the next generation to have a more sustainable, resilient world.”- via CEO Magazine
Another angle is to see this innovation as a hospitality concept. In a Bloomberg interview, Andreas King-Geovanis, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Sextant Stays says, “We see Arkup not as a real estate product but as a hospitality product that’s much more convenient than going to the Maldives and getting an overwater villa.” He sees an opportunity in Arkup making smaller versions which will allow companies like his to potentially buy a number of them at a lower price.

Following the game-changing innovation by Tesla, we agree with Arkup's co-founder, who says, "in the beginning, Tesla was a luxury product only the rich could afford. But its new range is a lot more accessible now. In the same way, Arkup will become a responsibly green alternative to conventional housing."
Arkup can undoubtedly be compared to Tesla in bringing game-changing innovation to this industry.
