Since its launch in 2019, Kim Kardashian's $4 billion fashion brand Skims has been branching out into innovative collaborations with other brands.

Skims And The NBA, WNBA and USA Basketball

In October 2023, Skims announced it will be the official underwear brand for the NBA, WNBA and USA Basketball. Simply put, players will be wearing Skims under their jerseys and shorts.

This multiyear partnership showed that Skims has been in their “sports era” for a while because in 2021 they provided the official underwear, lounge wear and pis for female American athletes at the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Many people think the partnership between Skims and the NBA is well-executed as both brands share common objectives - diversity and inclusivity.

This collaboration couldn't have been more perfect as Skims had recently launched a menswear collection days before the big announcement and had also announced partnerships with certain athletes the previous week.

Skims and Swarovski

The Skims X Swarovski collection features some of the most beautiful bedazzled skin-like shape-wear. This collection is built around Swarovski’s Millenia necklace. This necklace wraps around the hips and torso like a harness, and the best part is the crystals on the necklace change appearance based on the wearer's skin tone. This collection also features ready-to-wear dresses for every occasion.

Skims and Fendi

In October 2021, Kim Kardashian announced the release of a limited-edition collection of Skims X Fendi pieces. The collaboration featured two separate releases - the first in November and the second in December. The collection included various outdoor, shapewear, and underwear pieces adorned with the Fendi and Skims logos. Some notable pieces in the drop were reversible dresses, khaki puffer jackets, twisted tube tops, leather dresses, sculpting sashes, and brightly colored shapewear, capturing the signature Skims look.

Kim Jones initiated this collaboration after his team apparently anticipated a Skims launch and fell silent during a meeting. This led him to propose a collaboration, and thus, the Skims X Fendi collection was born.

The collaboration was well received, reportedly generating $1 million in profits in just 60 seconds. The entire capsule, as it was called, sold out almost immediately after its release.
